Why do soldiers like wearing sunglasses?

I have seen pictures of almost every of soldier in Iraq and Afghanistan wearing sunglasses (of course, Western troops). In instant thinking, wearing sunglasses will bother target sighting. Do they do it because to look intimidating? Or to hide their eyes where they look at? Or anything else?Dante
