Why are my prescription polarized sunglasses appearing wavy?

When I wear my prescription sunglasses and I see a stop light or a bright reflection, it appears as there is a wave or almost double vision of the light. They seem to add a strain to my eyes that my normal glasses do not. Could it be that the polarization was done wrong or something?

Polarized lenses work by not letting certain light through and it makes somethings appear wavy like that. I don’t know if you can fix it, mine have always done that.
