What do the Japanese think of wearing sunglasses?

I am Asian, yet I always wear sunglasses whenever the sun is out because I can barely open my eyes when it is so bright. I noticed that the Japanese people do not wear sunglasses even though the sun is bright. Is there a bad connotation with sunglasses there? Do they look bad at me for wearing sunglasses?

For day to day wear sunglasses which probably means their designs are bit too crazy for day to.
